Every time I visit the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site I learn something new. No, not because I didn’t pay attention the first time; but because there is always something new happening there!

This week is a great time to visit, not only is the weather great (right NOW, always subject to immediate change without notice  icon cool Celebrate National Park Week ) but during National Park Week admission is FREE! In fact, admission to ALL National Parks is free during this time.

Celebrity Chefs Share a Bowl

 

Soup’s On In Salmon Creek.

The Share Vancouver 11th annual Share-a-Bowl fundraising dinner will feature gourmet soups created by local chefs, plus artisan soup bowls as a keepsake for each guest. The event will be held Sunday, April 22, Skyview High School, 1300 NW 139th St., Vancouver. Doors open at 4:45 p.m., event begins at 5 p.m.

The Wait is Over.

During the first and second week of April, local dentists will be helping the Free Clinic of SW Washington reduce, or eliminate, the waiting list for urgent dental services for uninsured patients in Clark County.

The wait for urgent dental needs is about 5 months, and includes about 700 people; and that’s when Stephen Hendricks, an AmeriCorp Volunteer with the Free Clinic of SW Washington, came up with the idea to recruit local dentists for help.
