The voting ended February 8 on what to name the new Sports Field in Hazel Dell, and the results are in: 95% of voters think the new Hazel Dell Sports Field should be named the Luke Jensen Memorial Park.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee submitted the results, and made their recommendation to the Board of Clark County Commissioners today (February 18) at a noon meeting.
Now, we wait and see…will it be the Luke Jensen Memorial Park?

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. The Columbia River Chieftains will be having a sock drive the week of December 13 through 17, 2010. Clean socks are a staple of health care. Rain-soaked feet, ill-fitting shoes, constant standing and disease all take their toll on the feet of homeless people. One of the most basic ways to keep feet healthy is to keep them warm and dry – a sometimes daunting task if you spend your days outside.
