Blend Your Own Wine Now Offered at East Fork Cellars.

I have a favorite wine, my husband has a favorite wine, my friends have their favorite wines; and guess what? They aren’t all the same wine. That’s because each of us has a unique set of taste buds that dictate sweet, sour, bitter, etc; so you are your own best expert when it comes to wine. With that in mind, East Fork Cellars now offers Blend Your Own Wine; I was intrigued, so I asked owner Jeffrey Waddell for some more information.
“Blend Your Own wines is a first in the industry where you can blend by the glass and have your special blend on file for future purchase (by the glass, bottle or case) . BYOW is very fun and is an interactive offering at East For Cellars… and the guest can blend their very own wines based on their individual taste. BYOW is easy and you can do this as a couple, or a group.” Even better, you can buy a bottle (or a case  :-D ) of your favorite blend to take home. Be sure to fill out a card with your name and your blend on it, and when you come back to visit, you can order your favorite blend by the glass or decanter.
East Fork Cellars also has a variety of musicians playing; Les Cellar Rats is a Friday night favorite, with Celtic, Bluegrass, and more throughout the week. Schedules are subject to change, so check out their Events at East Fork Cellars to see who the upcoming talent will be.
Do you prefer movies with your wine? East Fork Cellars has a state of the art sound system and private screening room where guests can come in with their own DVD, have some wine and cheese/crackers and watch a movie with friends and family.
Visit East Fork Cellars in Ridgefield (24415 NE 10th Ave) or give them a call at 360-727-3055 for more information.

Fresh from the Battle Ground Barkery.

Do you have a dog, or know someone who does? Then you will want to check out the Battle Ground Barkery for some yummy treats, Doggie Biscotti, for Fido! These biscuits contain no wheat, are all natural, and have no preservatives.

Doggie Biscotti is made by students with disabilities at Battle Ground High School as part of their vocational training. Students make the dough, roll it, cut them out in the shape of a dog bone, bake and then package them.  They send them to “Futures,” a Community Based Transition program for students, ages 18-21. These students market the product and deliver to customers in the community. This is a wonderful partnership, providing skills and job opportunities for students with disabilities as well as a quality product.

You can buy Doggie Biscotti in bulk direct from the Battle Ground Barkery (20 Bags of 10 Biscuits each for $20) or from local retailers and businesses (click here for Battle Ground Barkery Partnerships). Proceeds of the “Doggie Biscotti” are used to support vocational training programs at Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground, Washington.

Biscuit hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 to 2:00. Call 360-600-7026 for more information.

Two-fer Tuesday.

p8110201Pizza Night (or day) at the Wayside Market in Salmon Creek.

Every Tuesday, for as long as I can remember, it’s Pizza Two-fer Tuesday at the Wayside Market.  Two Pizzas for $5.  And that’s two pizzas with anything you want on them.  Today was “Everything” and “Canadian Bacon”.

Walk in (1309 NE 134th Street) or call ahead (574-0155).  My teenage son has them on speed-dial on his phone so they must be good!  8-)

If you like a cold brew with your pizza, be sure to check out their “Beer Cave”.  They claim to have the coldest beer in town.  What do you think?
