We heard recently that Washington State University – Vancouver Campus was to begin work to determine property lines around part of their beautiful Salmon Creek campus. In discussions with WSUV personnel, we were told that they wanted to keep an open channel of communications about the project.  To that end, a postcard was going out to University neighbors – specifically along the western boundary – discussing the upcoming work.  Here is the text of the postcard and the picture they referenced.

Ride the Bus, Vancouver

Update 8/15/09:  The Town Hall Meeting originally scheduled for Skyview High School has been moved to the Clark County Amphitheater.  Still Scheduled for August 18, 7-9:30 pm.

Congressman Brian Baird has announced a series of five town hall meetings to reach out to constituents and discuss issues facing the nation.

The upcoming town hall meeting in Clark County will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 7-9:30 pm at the Skyview High School Auditorium in Salmon Creek.

Happy 4th of July to all our friends and fellow Americans in Salmon Creek, across America, and around the world.

It will be a strange 4th of July here in Vancouver, WA as the Fort Vancouver Fireworks Celebration has been cancelled this year for the first time since 1963 due to lack of funds.  The Fort will still be open for picnics and BBQ’s, but no personal fireworks are allowed.
