Vancouver USA’s Home Team.
“Over the river and through the woods”…NOT! You don’t have to cross over the Columbia River to watch a great basketball game. Our Vancouver Volcanoes Basketball Team, part of the International Basketball League, play their home games right here, in Vancouver, at the Clark College Sports Complex.
A Volcanoes game is about more than just basketball, it’s about building community (although, with just one time out allowed per team per quarter, and immediate inbounds, you get A LOT of basketball, too!) “What we have done is created an event that focuses on activities that are fun and exciting for everyone, with the added emphasis on families and their children” (Bryan Hunter, GM).
On June 11, 2010 the Volcanoes will be having a special “Salute to the Troops” Home Game. All Veterans and their families will receive free entry into the game, which will feature the 1st Marine Division Band and the All Branch Full Color Guard. “We will enjoy their wonderful music throughout the evening opening with the National Anthem, and mini concert following the game. There will also be a special half time performance by MzKelly Carr and the “Salute to the Troops Branch Medley.”
Admission is free for anyone under 18 or over 62, and $5 for the rest of us. For more information, visit the Vancouver Volcanoes website, or check out “What is fast, high scoring, and builds community” , a Vancouver Volcanoes game experience post by our friends at Southwest Washington Zest.
Game On!
