Salmon Creek Chinook Park Design

Fundraising for Chinook Park Officially Begins!

The preferred draft concept plan was presented to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board on April 15th for review. We’re happy to announce that the new design was approved by the advisory board! If you haven’t seen the new design, make sure you check it out.

At the last park committee meeting, a brainstorming session for ways to raise funds for additional park amenities, yielded great results. Some of the plans will take a little time to organize, but the consensus is that we need to get started right away to start building our nest egg. Construction on the park will begin spring 2012 so we have a little time to raise the extra money required. The first fundraising effort will be the sale of coupon cards for discounts at local businesses.

The cost of the cards is $10.00 and all proceeds will go to the Chinook Park fund. Contact your director or any NSCNA officer if you would like to purchase a coupon card. If you use this card only twice, you will have paid for it with the savings you will enjoy!

Be on the lookout for a sock hop, bingo night, and other fun events and activities. The park committee will be manning a fundraising booth at the Salmon Creek Farmers’ Market where we will be selling memorial/commemorative bricks and taking donations. If you are a local business and would like to make a donation from your business in the form of a brick or would like to sponsor a bench or boulder, please email us at chinookpark.wa@gmail.com and leave your contact information; a park committee person will soon be in touch. Don’t forget – the NSCNA is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are always tax deductible!
