As part of our ongoing coverage of the activities that shape your Salmon Creek neighborhood, the following are the formal minutes from the North Salmon Creek Neighborhood Association Board Meeting, held on June 22, 2010.

North Salmon Creek Neighborhood Association Executive Meeting Minutes

The June 22nd NSCNA Executive Meeting was held at Paul Scarpelli’s house and began at 6:30 PM.
Members present: • Paul Scarpelli, President • Barbara Anderson, Vice President • Samantha Guse, Secretary • Jennifer Konopasek, Director #1 • Dan Bodell, Director #4 • Larry Gentry, Director #5 • David Devine Director #7 Members Absent: • Merle Kullberg, Treasurer • Pat Hughes, Director #2 • Mitch Canton, Director #3 • Ron Wilson, Director #6 Guests: • Avril Massey, president ex-oficio

1. Avril Massey is being removed as a signing authority on our account at Riverview Community Bank. We are adding Paul Scarpelli as he is the new president.

2. Riverview Grant a. Riverview is giving us a $50 grant to fund a hospitality area the Felida 4th of July Celebration.

3. 4th of July in Felida a. Donors: i. Riverview Community Bank – $50 for hospitality area ii. Pacific Rentals – 4 or 5 tables, 50 chairs iii. Others still possible. iv. Signs saying “Courtesy of…” are allowed. Also there will be thank yous in the Felida NA newsletter (if they make the printing cut.) v. Potato sacks arrived – courtesy of Barbara’s daughter. vi. Paul will cut strips of fleece for the 3-legged race. vii. Cash n’ Carry is also supplying a bunch of stuff for us. b. We are doing sno-cones and cotton candy. c. Paul will organize booth volunteers. d. Barbara will organize games. e. OMSI is coming. They will need 3-5 tables. f. Setup is at 9 AM.

4. Salmon Creek Farmers Market a. How can we help them? How can they help us? b. Paul will discuss with Ann Foster at her Thursday Friends of the Farmers Market meeting.

5. West Precinct Public Safety Complex Open House is coming up on September 18th from 12-4 PM.

6. Board Member Vacancies a. David Devine – District 7 – Looking for a replacement b. Pat Hughes – District 2 – Moving out of country for 3 years. Need a replacement. c. Possibilities? Ann Foster, Jennifer Konopasek, Marland Howard, Others?

7. Parks Meeting update – Barbara a. Spoke to Steve Stuart at the Fazio Park opening and he said he’d support us. Pete Mayr said we’d hear good news in about 2-3 weeks. If nothing happens, we’ll need to meet with Stuart.

8. Traffic issues: a. Bliss road intersection b. Additional intersections on NE Tenney c. Is the timing on NE 134th improved?

9. Revisit Goals: Discussion a. Growing our volunteer base b. CERT c. Livability – What is important to our neighbors? i. Jazzing up the 139th overpass? – Dan d. Streamline processes – Newsletter deliveries, etc. e. Communication pathway for constituents to add things to our list. “If you care, we care.” – Possible slogan?

10. September Meeting: Construction traffic issue updates.
