General Meeting Minutes
March 23, 2010
The March 23, 2010 NSCNA General Meeting was held at the Three Creeks Library at 7 PM. The meeting was started with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Vice-President Barbara Anderson.
1. A member moved that we dispense with the reading of the minutes. Seconded. All in Favor.
2. Merle gave the Treasurer’s Report. Current Balance is $235.51. Donations are welcome!
3. Committee Reports
a) Zoning Committee – Dan is the lead but is not here tonight.
• We receive notifications of zoning changes periodically and these are shared among the board but we need volunteers to help us figure out which we need to be concerned with. If you are willing to volunteer, please let Barbara know.
b) Communication Committee – Mitch
• Salmoncreeklive.com is up and operational! Check it out.
c) Parks Committee Update – Barbara
• Working with Parks & Rec to get our park. We have asked for two members of NACC to sit on the Parks Advisory Commission. Barbara has volunteered to be one of the members.
• You may be contacted in the next week for a signature on a letter to the Parks & Rec asking for our park. If you can gather signatures from your neighborhood, let us know!
4. Speaker: Linda Franklin, Assessor for Clark County – Property Taxes 101
• Washington homes are assessed at market value.
• Everything in the same geographic area is assessed at the same rate (levy) which is based on the services provided to that geographic area (i.e. fire, police, library, sewer, etc.)
• Budget / Assessed Value = Rate then your A/V * Rate = Your taxes.
• Senior Citizen Property Tax Exemption is available.
5. Neighbor to Neighbor
• New CERT graduate!
• Director Pat Hughes is back from Iraq! Yay! Carrol Heller was his backup while he was gone. Thank you!
• Marlin Howard: Public hearing at 7 PM on April 22nd in Commissioner’s hearing room regarding planned development behind Whipple Creek Estates.
