As part of our ongoing coverage of the activities that shape your Salmon Creek neighborhood, the following are the formal minutes from the North Salmon Creek Neighborhood Association Executive Board Meeting, held on June 24, 2008.
The June ’08 NSCNA Executive Meeting was held at NSCNA President, Barbara Anderson’s home and began at 6:33pm.

1. Officer’s Reports
a. In order to save time for a full agenda, a motion was made, seconded and passed to forego reading of the previous meeting minutes.
b. The Treasurer’s report was made by Barbara Anderson since Darin Kaysner was delayed in arriving. It was announced that a total of $449.96 was in the treasury plus the $100 matching gift from Felida NA.
2. Old Business.
a. Incorporation as 501 3 c). I was announced that adequate funds were in place to begin the incorporation process. An IRS class was being scheduled for sometime this fall to educate us on the incorporation process.
b. Property Development Issues. A number of property development issues in the NSCNA area were discussed. No action was proposed or taken.
c. NSCNA community visibility activities. The Felida 4th of July Children’s Celebration was discussed and it was agreed that we would participate. Assignments were made to help with set up, children’s games, manning the booth and tear down.
d. Park Issues and update on progress were discussed but no action was taken. The next CC Parks meeting is scheduled for July 19.
e. CERT training and shed placement was briefly discussed and no specific action was taken.
4. New Business.
a. July General Meeting Agenda. It was decided that we would have Peggy Hayes of the Family to Family Programs at Legacy Health system speak to us. Also, Deputy Brown will bring an update on crime and pass out gun locks.
b. July Newsletter Deadlines. June 30 is the deadline for submission of articles for the July newsletter.
c. Decoration Contest. It was decided that we would have only the Halloween contest this year. The Holiday Season contest is more difficult to conduct and had less interest last year. A final decision will be made later.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm.
