As part of our ongoing coverage of the activities that shape your Salmon Creek neighborhood, the following are the formal minutes from the North Salmon Creek Neighborhood Association General Meeting, held on March 13, 2007.

Call to order: At 7:04 pm President Dan Bodell called the meeting to order.
Dan opened with announcements on the Port tax levy increase, the Salmon Creek Stream Team events and NSCNA residents are welcome to participate in the Felida NA chipper opportunity on May 5th (tree branches & leaves).
Dan explained how this would be the last meeting for two of our officers, David – treasurer and Steve – secretary, as they have moved outside NSCNA boundaries. He asked for nominations / volunteers for these positions.
Barbara Anderson nominated Larry Gentry for secretary. Janis Ayriss seconded. Dan Bodell nominated Darin Kaysner for treasurer. Barbara Anderson seconded.
Combined motion for Larry Gentry for secretary and Darin Kaysner for treasurer was placed for a vote of membership. Motion carried.
Speakers:
1. Bridget Schwarz – President of Fairgrounds NA asked for NSCNA support in opposing the proposed Walmart. Following Bridget’s presentation Dan opened floor for input from membership – do we want to align and support this initiative in conjunction with the Fairgrounds NA? A healthy discussion followed.
David Bergland moved that we accept the position as written or organize a sub committee to evaluate and provide recommendation to the membership at the next meeting. Additional discussion, David withdrew his motion.
Joy Blane moved that NSCNA resolve to support the Fairground NA and the walmartwatchdogs.org initiative. Tony Baldwin seconded. Motion carried.
2. Jennifer Matheson – 211 Service. Jennifer explained that 211 is an information and referral service available in Clark County. She provided handouts with additional details.
3. Jilayne Jordan – Clark County Public Information & Outreach; is working on greater Clark Parks District team. Jilayne described current status of proposed Chinook (placeholder name) Park. This is a neighborhood park, as such no parking or restrooms. They are soliciting input from residents on other park elements (green public comment form), she referred us to website www.clarkparks.org where the public comment form is online. Input deadline is end of March. Will have preliminary design for next step meeting with residents (to be held tentatively in April).
4. Chuck Kerr – Clark County Sheriff Department
Adjourned: There being no further business, meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
