As part of our ongoing coverage of the activities that shape your Salmon Creek neighborhood, the following are the formal minutes from the North Salmon Creek Neighborhood Association General Meeting, held on November 17, 2009.


The November 17, 2009 NSCNA General Meeting was held at Riverview Community Bank at 7 PM.  The meeting was started with the Pledge of Allegiance led by President Barbara Anderson.

1.  The agenda was reviewed by Barbara.

2.  Dan moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes. Seconded. Vote: All in favor.

3.  Treasurer’s Report: Current balance of $299.61.

4.  Call for a Communication Committee
a.   Larry moves to establish this committee and empower them to make decisions on communication methods within the NSCNA. Seconded. Vote: All in favor. Committee is established.
b.  Mitch Canton is lead on the Committee.

5. Recognition of current NSCNA Board members. Thank you!

5.  4th Annual Halloween Decoration Awards
a.   Winners listed below.

6.  Special Award: Carrol Heller.

7.  Election of NSCNA officers
a.   Call for volunteers
b.  Slate presented:
i.  President: Avril Massey

8.  Volunteer Recognition by Milada Allen of Felida Neighborhood Association
a.   Felida NA presented President Barbara Anderson with a Bronze Eagle award at their recent Awards Ceremony.  The rest of the NSCNA board received certificates of appreciation. Thank you for all your help!
b.  Youth Volunteers: Jared & Alicia Wallingford
c.   Barbara also recognized Jared, Alicia, and their parents, Terry and Kari Wallingford, for all their hard work and assistance.

9.  Special Award: Milada Allen.

10. Merchant Awards presented.
a.   Good Neighbor Award plaques and certificates awarded to:

a.   County Budget issues: Cutting deputies and emergency services. What can we do?
i.  Neighborhood Watch
1.  Could work in conjunction with CERT
2.  Talk to Dan about possible CERT Shed locations
ii.   Neighborhood Online Forum
b.  Parks Committee
i.  Motion that we change the County’s priority from Chinook Park to a new park north of 149th. Seconded. Discussion. Vote: All in favor.
c.   Newsletter Delivery volunteers needed. Please sign up!

The next meeting is January 26, 2010.
