As part of our ongoing coverage of the activities that shape your Salmon Creek neighborhood, the following are the formal minutes from the North Salmon Creek Neighborhood Association General Meeting, held on September 23, 2009.
The September 23, 2009 NSCNA General Meeting was held at Three Creeks Library at 7 PM. The meeting was started with the Pledge of Allegiance led by President Barbara Anderson.
1. Dan moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes. Seconded. Vote: All in favor.
2. Treasurer’s Report: Current balance of $179.61.
3. Citizen Emergency Response Team Update by Dan
a. Next steps: Training
b. Needs help on planning & location for sheds. Volunteers: Merle, Barbara, and Samantha.
4. 4th Annual Halloween Decorations Contest – Carrol
a. Homes have to be in our area.
b. Entry deadline is midnight, October 27.
c. Judging with be October 30th.
5. Newsletter Delivery Update by Carrol
a. Newsletters are hand delivered every 4 months.
b. We need volunteers! You can do as much or as little as you want. Everything helps!
c. County funding for the mail deliveries may be in jeopardy.
6. Parks Committee Update by Barbara
a. Chinook – Met with the Parks Director and received additional updates in a letter.
b. Fairgrounds – We are planning a shindig for the Grand Opening this Spring.
i. Looking for volunteers and donations.
ii. First meeting will be in mid-October
iii. Working with Hazel Dell and Fairgrounds Neighborhood Associations.
7. Speaker: Brad Lothspeich – Team 99 Chairman
a. Open House tomorrow night from 6-8 PM at Gaiser Middle School
8. Speakers: Colete Anderson and Jacqui Kamp from the Clark County Community Planning Office
a. Hope to be done with the Highway 99 sub-area plan by the end of the year

c. Salmon Creek sub-area (NSCNA area included) is possibly up for review in 2011 or so.
9. Neighbor to Neighbor:
a. Ann Foster: Farmers Market location update.
b. Barbara Anderson: 11th Children’s Christmas Celebration – Plea for help & donations. Contact Barbara!
c. Ben – Salmon Creek Watershed Council update on salmon health in our area.
10. Door prizes: Burgerville gift certificates.
The next meeting is November 17, 2009.
