Friends of Trees Planting Big Trees.
Eisenhower Park has gone through some growing pains over the past few years; or more appropriately, lack of growing pains.
Eisenhower Park was developed as a partnership with the Vancouver School District and the Greater Clark Parks District Program; both the new school and the park opened in 2006. The small trees that were planted unfortunately died, and neighbors have been waiting for more trees.
Well, no more waiting, and hoping, for trees to grow! Friends of Trees is bringing in the big boys, 25 of them, to be planted on Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Volunteers are welcome at this event; you don’t even need to pre-register! Just show up at Eisenhower Park (9201 NW 9th Avenue, at Eisenhower School) at 8:45 am, enjoy some coffee and breakfast treats, then start with the tree plantings at 9. Tools and gloves will be provided, too.
