Dogtoberfest will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 between 10 am and 3 pm at the Dakota Memorial Off-Leash Area within Pacific Community Park. Dogs of all shapes and sizes (and their owners) are welcome to join in this fun event! Admission is FREE, but a pet food donation to AniMeals would be greatly appreciated.

Can Dogs Help Kids Read?

reading-dogApparently so.  Studies show that reading aloud can help reading comprehension, and reading to a dog seems to be less intimidating than reading to a person.  CBS News aired a short news story on this, “Can Dogs Teach Kids to Read?
