Vancouver Green Drinks is a local, self proclaimed “not lame” networking group that gets together to support our local community and to show just how much fun the three R’s are! (you know, Reduce/Reuse/Recycle)

This month our 5 min spiel will be from Oso Martin of Empower Up. Empower Up is a non-profit organization that provides computers, education, job skills training and access to the Internet to those in need by reusing and marketing computers diverted from the waste stream.

Just in time for back-to-school shopping: On August 30th,  instead of the normal networking event, we are very excited to be bringing you our second annual clothing swap !!! Clean out your closets and set aside usable clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, household goods, electronics and media (music, movies, games, etc.) Come on out andswap at this free event with your fellow ‘Couverites and go home with some new treasures.  Please note: due to circumstances beyond our control, this will be a non-alcoholic event.

We are looking forward to our 2nd Annual Check ‘Em Off Green Holiday Gift event on November 12th. This year we have a few exciting additions, one of which is a “green gift wrap” station. We need your help. If you have any old maps or Sunday funnies/comics cluttering up your recycle bin, bring them to one of our events and help us reuse them first as whimsical colorful gift wrap.  What a great way to top off a unique green gift. ”

Are you going through the difficult and stressful journey of infertility? You are not alone.

Come to the Infertility Support Group on the first Wednesday of each month (next meeting is December 2, 2009) from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, located in Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital Conference Room B (Third Floor).  This group was established by CrossWay Church in Salmon Creek, as a safe place for group members to share their hurts, dreams, fears, doubts, and joys; and is based on Christian perspective, but everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.
