Everyone loves books, whether it is for the pictures, the words or the places they take you in your mind, so why not support a great cause and get a few good reads? The Friends & Foundation of the Camas Library are hosting a two day used book sale on February 18th and 19th. All the books being sold are donated by Camas and Washougal residents throughout the year. Camas Library is facing budget cuts this year and 100% of proceeds from the sale will go to our local library. These funds are used for summer reading programs, new materials and new equipment. President of the Foundation, Jason Masuoka, says so far they have almost 10,000 books to sell. The prices of the books will range from paperbacks for only .50 cents to specialty books priced individually. They even have books on tape and CD as well.

The sale will take place in the Second Story Gallery at the Camas Library on Friday February 18th from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday the 19th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will also be offering a $10 bag sale on Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. Don’t miss this event, for more information contact Jason Masuoka @ 360-910-6309 or Jason_Masuoka@comcast.net. Join Vancouver residents Gary Kokstis and Katlin Smith as they share their three week journey to Lithuania to reunite their family on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Battle Ground Community Library at 4 pm.

In Search of Family: A Journey to Lithuania. In 1909, Gary Kokstis’ grandfather immigrated from Lithuania to the US. None of his family returned to Lithuania until 2010 when Vancouver resident Gary and his wife, Katlin Smith, located Gary’s long-lost relatives, who didn’t realize they had American cousins. This is a program about their three-week trip to Lithuania to reunite the family and meet cousins for the first time. Their travelogue will include photos of this beautiful Baltic country.

The Battle Ground Community Library is located at 1207 SE 8th Way, in the Battle Ground Village. Battle Ground Village is also home to some great dining and shopping, so why not make an evening of it?

Three Creeks Library in Salmon Creek will be hosting a Family Fun movie event on Saturday, April 4th at 2 p.m.  Pull up a chair, have some popcorn and punch and enjoy this month’s free movie, WALL-E.   Three Creeks Library has many events scheduled; and, as always, library programs are open to the public and there is no cost to attend.  Check out Events at Three Creeks Library in Salmon Creek.
