The NSCNA will welcome Michelle Solari from the Goddard School and Dave Brown from Northwest Wild Fish Rescue to the January 24th general meeting to be held at 7:00 pm at Riverview Community Bank Salmon Creek (by Salmon Creek Fred Meyer, 800 NE Tenney Rd). It’s time to channel your inner Griswold for the First Annual North Salmon Creek Neighborhood Association (NSCNA) Winter Wonderland House Decorating Contest!

This is one of those times when the phrase “the more, the merrier” is put to the test! All entries will be judged on quantity of lights and decorations, as well as special effects such as music.This year the judges will be looking specifically for the best use of bows and packages.

The next North Salmon Creek Neighborhood Association meeting is coming up Tuesday, January 25, 2011, 7 pm at Riverview Community Bank (800 NE Tenney Rd).

Staff from Clark County Public Works and Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation will present two draft conceptual development plans for Chinook Neighborhood Park to residents for review and gathering input at the meeting.

CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. Through Basic CERT training, citizens can organize themselves and use spontaneous volunteers to manage utilities, put out small fires, provide basic medical first aid, search for and rescue victims calmly, safely, and efficiently.
