sunsetbirds 125 Planting Trees at Steigerwald is for the Birds Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge needs volunteers for tree planting along Gibbons Creek until the end of March. The planting will help improve the habitat with native trees and shrubs. With the support of the US Fish and Wildlife service there are almost 6500 trees and shrubs that need to be planted. They have been working diligently to get these in the ground since January. Dogtoberfest will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 between 10 am and 3 pm at the Dakota Memorial Off-Leash Area within Pacific Community Park. Summertime Swimming at Klineline

No More Lifeguards on Duty.

The good news is that Klineline Pond at Salmon Creek Park will remain open for swimming this summer. The bad news is that due to budget cuts, there will no longer be lifeguards on duty. And, since one of the duties of the lifeguards was to also maintain the spray feature at the park, that will also be turned off this summer.
