To be honest, I didn’t know how many miles of trails we have; so when I read about the new Clark County Trails Map that was just published, and that it was FREE, well, I went down to the Marshall Center and picked up a copy.

Walking Tour of Salmon Creek Trail

salmon_creekVancouver Parks and Rec, in partnership with the Portland Metro Council, will be giving away free pedometers and “Walk There” trail guides on Saturday, September 19 as part of an initiative to “encourage connectivity and awareness about the region’s trail systems.”

Volunteers Needed for Trail Improvement.

Whipple Creek Park, just West of the Clark County Fairgrounds off 179th Street, is a 300 acre park with miles of trails for hikers and horseback riders and home to many types of wildlife.

Several trails inside Whipple Creek Park were closed August 17 for trail improvement.  Vancouver Clark Parks and Recreation and the Clark County Executive Horse Council, invite you to join them on Saturday September 12 to help rehabilitate the trails in this beautiful park.
