After volunteers spend time planting trees and making sure the native saplings go into the ground correctly, volunteers are needed to spend a day with the StreamTeam to make sure the trees survive.

Improve your native plant identification skills while learning how to monitor a native tree planting!  StreamTeam members will sleuth their way through a yearling planting to find who is the caper.  Was it deer in the wetland with improper tube placement?  You be the judge!

Blazing a Trail at Whipple Creek

Volunteers Needed for Trail Improvement.

Whipple Creek Park, just West of the Clark County Fairgrounds off 179th Street, is a 300 acre park with miles of trails for hikers and horseback riders and home to many types of wildlife.

Several trails inside Whipple Creek Park were closed August 17 for trail improvement.  Vancouver Clark Parks and Recreation and the Clark County Executive Horse Council, invite you to join them on Saturday September 12 to help rehabilitate the trails in this beautiful park.

Greening the Salmon Creek Greenway

“Bringing Salmon Back to Salmon Creek.”

streamteam1_web“Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds come together to care for the Salmon Creek Greenway.  Over 3,000 native trees have been planted by the StreamTeam Program to protect Salmon Creek along the 3.2 mile trail system.

Celebrate Earth Day.

Volunteers are invited to come get dirty with the Salmon Creek StreamTeamstreamteam as they host the 10th Annual Earth Day celebration on April 18, from 8:30 am to 2 pm.  There will be tree planting along Salmon Creek  to improve and protect water quality and help restore salmon habitat.  Lunch and commemorative T-shirts will be provided for volunteers.  Whether you are planting trees or not, bring the family and enjoy an EcoFair, wildlife show, children’s activities and a free four-pack of CFL’s.  According to the StreamTeam website[Continue reading...]
